Непрерывные ряды арок, протянутые от края до края листа, ширина арок от 2,5 до 6 мм, реже до 1 см. Узор выполнен гребнем, длина которого равна одной из сторон лотка и, соответственно, листа. Узор может быть оживлён волнами или завитками. Название применяется к бумагам XVIII века с приглушёнными красками и поверхностью без блеска. К более поздним версиям этого узора исторический термин «волнистая» не применяется. См. мраморную бумагу «с использованием длинного гребня».
